<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and finely photograph a subject (person) by a non-visible ray lighting system and a camera provided in a screen reverse face side, and to process a camera image to detect the subject, to be used for interactive display, in particular, to accurately detect a view point and a sight line over a wide range by a non-mounted means. <P>SOLUTION: A display device includes a thin screen using a self-luminous body as a pixel, or a thin screen using a reflective projector screen, the lighting system emitting the nonvisible ray toward the subject via the screen, the camera provided adjacently to the screen for catching a subject reflected light via the screen, and a means for processing the camera image to detect the subject. An EL element, an LED or a plasma discharge element is used as the self-luminous body. The lighting system illuminates the central fovea of a retia and the periphery thereof distributingly when looking straight at an illumination area. The display device can project a geometric pattern of an infrared ray toward the subject. A cornea reflected image by the illumination, a pupil image or the like is processed to detect the view point and the sight line.
