PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress unnecessary precompression control (preliminary control) causing an uncomfortable feeling to a driver. SOLUTION: This motion control device for a vehicle includes a braking means for controlling a braking torque of a wheel, a steering angular velocity obtaining means for obtaining the steering angular velocity of the vehicle, a determining means for determining reference lateral acceleration based on the steering angular velocity obtained by the steering angular velocity obtaining means, and an actual lateral acceleration obtaining means for obtaining the actual lateral acceleration of the vehicle. The determining means determines the reference lateral acceleration to be a smaller value as the steering angular velocity becomes larger, or determines it to be a larger value as the steering angular velocity becomes smaller. When the actual lateral acceleration obtained by the actual lateral acceleration obtaining means exceeds the reference lateral acceleration, giving of the braking torque to the wheel is started via the braking means.
