The insert plate (10) is manufactured by hot forming and press hardening of a sheet semi-finished product, where a draw direction corresponds to the vehicle lateral direction during hot forming in an installation position of the insert sheet. A partial area of the insert sheet has an undercut (20) opposite to the draw direction. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an insert plate.
