<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required for correcting mobility. <P>SOLUTION: In the pixel of a display apparatus that uses an organic EL element that is a self light-emitting element, during a writing+mobility correction period T<SB>5</SB>, a pixel sampling transistor is turned on, to simultaneously start writing of a video signal and mobility correction. In other words, a signal potential Vsig corresponding to the video signal is written in a storage capacity in the form of being added to the threshold voltage Vth of a driving transistor. A voltage for mobility correction is subtracted from a voltage stored in the storage capacity. On and after a time t<SB>17</SB>when the writing of the video signal is finished, a power source scanner increases the potential of the power line DSL-(M-1) of adjacent pixels adjacent to each other in a column direction by ▵Vds from a first high potential Vcc1 for a period of ▵T.
