PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent copyright from being infringed by copying information recorded in a hard disk with copy restriction into other hard disk with a PC, etc., to produce a large number of copies illegally.

SOLUTION: During recording in the hard disk, information is encrypted and recorded onto a hard disk drive using an identification being number unique thereto. Thus, even when being copied into other hard disk drive illegally, normal reproduction is prohibited since the drive identification number necessary for decoding is different. Version information of the hard disk is memorized in an information management circuit. When the information is illegally copied onto other hard disk, the version information is changed and does not coincide with the version information memorized in the information management circuit. Thus, a reproduction operation is prohibited.
