<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organometallic compound, a ligand, an asymmetric catalyst, and a method of producing an optically active alcohol using the asymmetric catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The organometallic compound is represented by formula (1) (in the formula, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>may be the same or different and each represent an alkyl group, an aryl group, or a cycloalkyl group, each of which may or may not contain a substituent, provided that R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>may bind to each other to form an alicyclic ring; R<SP>3</SP>represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; R<SP>4</SP>represents a branched alkyl group or an alkyl group that may or may not form a ring by itself, an aryl group that may or may not contain a substituent, or a heterocyclic group that may or may not contain a substituent; M represents ruthenium, rhodium or iridium; L represents a solvent molecule or a water molecule; l is 1 or 2; m is an integer of 0 to 2; n is 0 or 1 provided that X does not exist if n is 0; and * represents can asymmetric carbon). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
