PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a receiver may occasionally receive a wrong signal, because of a current signal based on charge accumulated in a stray capacitor between transmission lines. SOLUTION: A return-signal receiving circuit for a receiver uses a transmission scheme for sending a return signal from a terminal to the receiver, by connecting the terminal to a transmission line, that extends from the receiver, and causing the terminal to return a signal between clock pulse signals, at predetermined positions of the clock pulses sent from the receiver through the transmission line. The return-signal receiving circuit is provided with a receiving signal bypass means that does not allow a return signal from being inputted to the return-signal receiving circuit, by bypassing the return signal receiving circuit for a first predetermined period between clock pulse signals at predetermined positions, when receiving the return signal from the terminal.
