PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of the period management of document data. SOLUTION: A period calculation part 24 of a period management device 2 selects a period calculation formula for adding prescribed time by using an event occurrence time as an origin from the classification of an event whose input has been accepted by an event input part 21, and calculates a period calculation result for the event by substituting the event occurrence time whose input has been accepted by the event input part 21 for the selected period calculation formula, and reads the attribute information of the document data stored in an old document management table 13a, and when the read attribute information is matched with the attribute information of the document data whose input has been accepted by the event input part 21, defines the period calculation result corresponding to the attribute information of the document data as the period of the document data.
