PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive/positioning device for expecting cost reduction and durability increase, and performing a highly accurate positioning, and to provide an image measuring apparatus. SOLUTION: The device includes: a drive means 40 for rotating a turret 32; and a positioning means for positioning the turret rotated by the drive means. The drive means includes: a motor 41; a decelerator 42 connected to the output shaft of the motor; and a power transmission mechanism 43 for transmitting output from the decelerator, and rotating the turret. The power transmission mechanism 43 includes: a first joint member 44 and second joint member 45 for transmitting rotation from the decelerator by engaging with each other, with a play clearance 46 therebetween them relative to a direction opposite to the rotating direction of the decelerator.
