PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an insecticide for rice tubs which is excellent in repellent effect and insect-proof effect to a food insect pest represented by maize weevil, is excellent in the safety to man and animals, is easy to use, and has high practicality. SOLUTION: The insecticide for rice tubs includes p-menthane-3,8-diol as an insect controlling component and is installed in a rice tub. The insecticide for rice tubs preferably contains a plant-derived deodorizing component together with p-menthane-3,8-diol.
