PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily block a boiler flue for a short time by constituting a closing body by a plurality of blocking members, carrying the respective blocking members to a blocking portion of the boiler flue, connecting the respective blocking members to the boiler flue from the inner side of the boiler flue and interconnecting the blocking members to close the cross section of the boiler flue by the closing body. SOLUTION: In a method of blocking the boiler flue 1, a closing plate 2 for closing the cross section 1a of the boiler flue 1 is constituted of blocking plates 21-24 and a vertical beam 25 each having the size enabling carrying to the blocking portion of the boiler flue 1. The blocking plates 21-24 and the vertical beam 25 are carried to the blocking portion of the boiler flue 1, and the blocking plates 21-24 and the vertical beam 25 are welded to the boiler flue 1 from the inner side of the boiler flue 1.
