PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic toner produced in an aqueous medium using a processed magnetic material processed in a vapor phase, the magnetic toner giving high image density in a high temperature and high humidity environment and causing little fog in a low temperature and low humidity environment. SOLUTION: The magnetic toner comprises magnetic toner particles containing at least a binder resin and a processed magnetic material, and inorganic fine particles, and is characterized in that: the magnetic toner particles are produced in an aqueous medium; the processed magnetic material is subjected to a hydrophobicity imparting process in a vapor phase by using a silane compound prepared by hydrolysis of alkoxysilane; and the silane compound has a hydrolysis rate of not less than 50% of the alkoxysilane.
