A method of simulating an index in a linked information system configured to obtain a set of media content related to at least one tracked theme or topic within a field and to generate a set of links between media content from the set of media content as a function of a relevance to the at least one tracked theme or topic, the method steps of presenting at least one of an initial index or an initial evaluation of events to at least one user, providing mechanisms to enable the at least one user to assign scores to at least one of an initial index or an initial evaluation of events of content from the set of media content, calculating a customized index as a function of the scores, and presenting the customized index to the at least one user.
