<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical resin material excellent in light resistance with a high refractive index, and to provide an optical element excellent in light resistance, and an optical head device using the optical element. <P>SOLUTION: A polymerizable compound is expressed by SiA<SP>1</SP>A<SP>2</SP>A<SP>3</SP>A<SP>4</SP>, wherein silicon and four cyclic groups are bonded directly or through oxygen. In the formula, A<SP>1</SP>, A<SP>2</SP>, A<SP>3</SP>and A<SP>4</SP>are each independently -(O)<SB>m</SB>-X, wherein m represents 0 or 1, X is a cyclic group, preferably a phenyl group. Y represents a single bond or a 1-12C alkylene group, and W represents an epoxy group, oxetane group, or epoxycyclohexyl group.
