<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for detecting media cartridge theft, early detecting the theft of a media cartridge housed in a tape library device. <P>SOLUTION: A tape library control device 300 performs the steps of: storing tape configuration information read from the tape cartridge of a powered-ON tape library device 10 by a bar code reader 19 and a serial number reading part into a configuration information storage part; setting ON a serial number determination flag indicating execution of determination as to whether correspondence between bar code information and a serial number of the media configuration information stored in the configuration information storage part is correct; and comparing, at optional timing, the bar code information and the serial number stored in the configuration information storage part with bar code information and a serial number read by the bar code reader 19 and the serial number reading part, and issuing a warning to a user by a warning informing part when nonconicidence is determined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
