<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cemented carbide which has high hardness, excellent strength and excellent toughness. <P>SOLUTION: The cemented carbide has a hard phase that is mainly composed of WC particles and a binder phase that is mainly composed of WC-Co, and contains 0.2 to 0.9 mass% of Co and 0.2 to 1.5 mass% of Cr with the balance made up of a binary compound of W and C and impurities. In the alloy, Co is present mainly as a metal component. The average particle size of WC particles is 0.2-0.7μm, and the standard deviationσof the particle size of WC particles satisfiesσ≤0.2. By containing Co in an amount within the above-specified range, the toughness is improved. In addition, by containing Co in an amount within the above specified range, sintering property is improved, and the sintering temperature is made lower. By containing Cr, growth of WC particles is effectively suppressed to obtain a cemented carbide in which fine WC particles having a uniform particle size are present. Since Cr is present as a metal component, decrease in the strength due to the presence of Cr carbide can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
