PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting tube for maintaining high lamp efficiency in spite of fluctuation in lamp electric power, and to provide a lamp. SOLUTION: The light emitting tube 3 includes a glass tube 19 being sealed, and electrodes 17, 18 arranged at both ends 13, 15 thereof. The glass tube 19 has a swelling portion 37 at a center site corresponding to an approximate center in an inter-electrode region positioned between filament coils 25, 26 of both electrodes 17, 18. Its coldest point exists in the other end region than the inter-electrode region upon turning-on with rated lamp electric power, and exists in the swelling portion 37 upon turning-on with an predetermined lamp electric power lower than the rated lamp electric power. The lamp includes the light emitting tube 3, and bases provided in the light emitting tube 3 for electrically connecting the electrodes 17, 18, respectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
