PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-mold coating molding method which can improve the adhesion of a coating even when a component hindering the curing of the coating is included in components in a base material resin and a mold suitable for the method. SOLUTION: In a process before a coating agent is injected in the surface of the resin, a void for injecting gas is formed between the surface of a side coated with the resin packed in a mold cavity and a mold cavity surface, and after the gas is injected into the void, the void is compressed sharply to raise temperature. Even when a resin poor in adhesion to the coating is used as a base material, the temperature is raised by the adiabatic compression of the gas injected into the mold cavity increase the reactivity of the surface of the base material resin, and adhesion to the coating can be improved. If the gas to be injected into the mold cavity is made oxygen or a mixture consisting of oxygen and a combustible gas, an effect similar to that acquired by applying flame processing can be obtained with regard to the surface of the base material resin.
