PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform image correction corresponding to discriminated image data by discriminating underexposed image data from nightscape image data. SOLUTION: This image processing apparatus includes a feature amount calculating portion 102 for calculating a plurality of feature amounts from image data, a scene determining portion 103 for determining at least either a nightscape or an underexposed scene by combining the plurality of feature amounts calculated by the feature amount calculating portion 102, and a correction processing portion 104 for correcting image data in accordance with a scene determined by the scene determining portion 103, outputs the corrected image data to a printer 210 to print the image data.
