PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device capable of surely treating drainage without discharging the drainage to the external. SOLUTION: Since a compressor 21 is switched from a continuous operation to an on/off operation, when the generation of drainage is increased, and the drainage in a drain pan 31 reaches a first water level or higher, a cooling capacity is suppressed in comparison with that in the continuous operation, and the generation of the drainage can be reduced by just that much. Further, as the drainage in the drain pan 31 is simultaneously sprinkled to a top face of an evaporation enhancing member 32 from a sprinkling plate 36, evaporation of the drainage by the evaporation enhancing member 32 is further enhanced. Furthermore, since the compressor 21 is continuously stopped when the drainage in the drain pan 31 reaches a second water level higher than the first water level, or higher, the drainage does not generate from the evaporator 22, and the increase of the drainage in the drain pan 31 can be suppressed.
