PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel moss ball foliage plant excellent in visually rendering effect, and to provide a method for producing the moss ball foliage plant. SOLUTION: The moss ball foliage plant 10 includes a moss ball 2 and a plant body 4 which takes roots in the moss ball 2. The surface of the moss ball 2 is covered with a felt coat 3 formed by pushing wool material with a needle. When making the moss ball foliage plant 10, the following steps are preferably carried out in sequence: A: hardening peat moss into a prescribed shape to make the moss ball 2; B: wrapping the moss ball 2 with the wool material; and C: pushing the wool material with the needle into felt state, and covering the surface of the moss ball with the felt coat 3.
