[Class 106 (i)] A machine for sensing master and detail perforated cards comprises in combination mechanism for comparing perforation patterns in preselected portions of such cards, master and detail card feeding mechanisms each operable to feed a card during each machine cycle, a feed selector element settable to three positions permitting respectively operation of both feeding mechanisms or either of the feeding mechanisms separately, means for setting the selector element into one or other of its three positions under the control of the comparing mechanism and manually settable means for varying the setting of the selector element produced by the comparing mechanism on detecting agreement and disagreement between the compared cards. The card feeding mechanism generally may be similar to that described in Specification 510,910, [Group VIII], and the driving &c. mechanism similar to that described in U.S.A. Specification 2,044,119. The detailed apparatus described is identical with that set out in Specification 546,590. Specifications 546,603, 546,604, [Group VIII], and 546,605 also are referred to.
