A compound represented by general formula (I) which is useful as a fluorescent probe enabling highly sensitive and specific detection of NPP6. In formula (I), R1 and R2 represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group; R3 and R4 represent a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom; m represents 0 or 1; L represents an alkylene group having 2 to 5 carbon atoms; and R5 represents -N+(R6)(R7)(R8) or -N(R9)(R10) [wherein R6 to R10 represent an alkyl group].
