<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collaborative multi-user video editing system which decreases or eliminates a dependency between a media file size and a client processing power/network bandwidth. <P>SOLUTION: A server 102 receives a video editing command from a remote client 110 to change a virtual expression including a reference to a source media file stored in a storage 108 depending on the received command. A storage controller 104 is connected with the server 102 via a high-speed link to generate a proxy expression of the changed source media file and then transmit the proxy expression to the remote client 110. Various regions of the proxy expression are rendered in a background or in real time, depending on the complexities of the regions. The rendered frame is stored for reutilization, regardless of the fact that the frame was generated in a background or in real time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
