PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile telephone unit of folding type having a function of locking external keys disposed on an external surface of a body of the mobile telephone unit, wherein operation of the locking function can be temporally canceled without opening the body of the mobile telephone unit. SOLUTION: A user continuously presses a side key 203 disposed on a sidewall 202 of the body of the mobile telephone unit. When the continuous pressing is detected by a detection part 307, a temporal cancellation part 308 instructs a lock part 306 to temporally cancel a setting of invalidation of external key operations, and also instructs a resumption part 309 to activate a timer. Upon receiving an external key operation signal from an operation part 305 after activating the timer, the resumption part 309 reactivates the timer and then instructs the lock part 306 to cease the temporal cancellation after a predetermined time period has elapsed. An opening/closing action detecting part 310 detects an opening or closing action at a folding part 103 to inform an opening or closing state to the lock part 306.
