PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and correctly calculate reply efficiency of a transponder to correctly monitor the transponder. SOLUTION: Distance measuring equipment includes: the transponder 12 for outputting an answer signal in response to a question signal and a station identification sign; a control unit 15 for outputting a control signal to the transponder 12 and generating a station identification sign transmitting signal; a monitor unit 13 having a transponder inspecting means 131 for outputting the question signal, an operation determination means 137 for determining a failure of the transponder 12 upon inputting the answer signal, and a station identification sign determination means 138 for outputting a reply efficiency calculation suspension signal for a period when the station identification sign transmitting signal is being input from the control unit 15; and a switch circuit 14 for outputting the question signal received from an aircraft to the transponder 12, also transmitting the answer signal in response to the question signal, outputting the question signal input from the monitor unit 13 to the transponder 12, also outputting the answer signal in response to the question signal, and outputting the station identification sign to the aircraft and the monitor unit.
