PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selective sticking agent which is stuck selectively to a minute amount of a halogenated aromatic compound contained in an organic medium to remove the halogenated aromatic compound from the organic medium or concentrate the halogenated aromatic compound, so that the decomposition of the halogenated aromatic compound can be facilitated. SOLUTION: The selective sticking agent for the halogenated aromatic compound contained in the organic medium contains a polymer which is made to interact attractively with the halogenated aromatic compound and obtained by subjecting β-cyclodextrin and an organic dibasic acid to a condensation reaction.
