PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply evaluating an electrooptical device such as a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The method for evaluating the electrooptical device for displaying images by respectively applying drive voltages to a plurality of pixels arranged in a display area includes a step of display-driving displaying a sample image (40, 41, 42) having a gradation distribution of predetermined pattern within the planar surface of the display area by applying different drive voltages to the plurality of pixels, a step of photographing the displayed sample image and a step of evaluating for obtaining the optical transmittance of each of the plurality of pixels in the display area on the basis of each photographed sample image.
