PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner device capable of recognizing the operation of a carriage. SOLUTION: The scanner device 70 has a light-emitting section 76 for emitting light to an object to be read (P), and a read section 75 for reading light reflected by the object to be read (P) and includes a carriage 74 moving in a prescribed direction (Y); an exterior section 71 for covering the carriage 74; a light-emitting section (72), extended in the movement direction Y of the carriage 74 at a section corresponding to an end section of the light-emitting section 76 in the exterior section 71; and a light guide member 77 which is provided for the carriage 74, and guides the light of the light-emitting section 76 to the light-emitting section (72).
