PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a veress needle having small risk causing penetration into and wound of anatomical structure upon inserting. SOLUTION: The veress needle has a shaft with a bendable region, and includes: a shaft whose penetrating tip is located at the distal end of the shaft; and a housing which is located at the proximal end of the shaft and includes an insufflation port located near its distal end to introduce insufflation fluid through the caliber of the shaft.
