<p>Provided is a work measuring method comprising a step for determining a retrieval starting position for a work so shaped as to include at least one of a concave shape and a convex shape having a tip portion in a two-dimensional direction, a step for setting a center position, and a first position and a second position spaced from each other, a step for acquiring a measurement point group containing measurement points individually at the center position, the first position and the second position, and a step for deciding such one of measurement points as is the closest to the tip portion, on the basis of the positions of the individual measurement points in a second direction, thereby to select the position of the decided measurement point in a first direction as a selection position. The retrieval starting position is set as the center position, when the measurement point group is acquired at first after the retrieval starting position was decided. The selection position is set as the center position when the measurement point group is acquired after the selection position was selected. The spacing is narrowed each time the selection position is selected, so that the measurement points contained in the measurement point group are converged.</p> |
