The device (100) has a mechanical unit (103) for insertion into a bicycle frame. The mechanical unit is formed such that it is shortened by axial fixation of a movable component e.g. damping element (101) and rocker support, at the bicycle frame by a fastener (104) along axial direction of the fastener, which leads to radial fixation of the movable component. The device fastens the movable component to a bicycle sub-structure (102). The mechanical unit is provided with a slot liner and tapering elements. The mechanical unit is shortened such that the tapering elements are moved on the liner. An independent claim is also included for a method for fastening a movable component at a bicycle frame.
