[Class 69 (iii)] In a rotary sewage &c. distributer of the kind in which liquid is fed by a pipe above the level of a filter bed into a rotatable pan 15 from which extend rotary feed arms 16, the feed pipe 14 extends from a feed tank 11 and the delivery end 17 of the pipe is at a lower level than the intake 13 and also lower than the discharge outlets of the distributer arm, thus forming a liquid seal in the pan, the liquid being syphoned from the feed chamber when the level therein rises above the top of the feed pipe. The delivery end 17 of the pipe may pass through a mercury seal and the pan 15 may be mounted on antifriction bearings as described in Specification 543,473.</p> |
