<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce volume and cost by using only one snubber resistor, which has conventionally required two resistors for one module for one phase. <P>SOLUTION: Figure shows one phase of an inverter that converts DC into AC. A series circuit of a capacitor 22 and a diode 23 is connected in parallel to a main switching element T1. Another series circuit of a diode 26 and a capacitor 25 is connected in parallel to a main switching element T2.
