PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial lawn having flame retardancy dependent on the planting density of pile yarn. SOLUTION: The artificial lawn constituted by alternately planting a straight pile yarn 2 and a crimped pile yarn 3 in lines in a base cloth 4 formed of a cloth-like body of thermoplastic resin substantially with the same length includes a high-density layer 7 of pile yarns in which both the straight pile yarn 2 and the crimped pile yarn 3 are present, the high-density layer being provided above an upper portion of the base cloth 4, and a low-density layer 8 in which only the straight pile is present, the low-density layer being provided above the high-density layer 7.
