PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wire for submersible motor with high long-term reliability. SOLUTION: The electric wire 1 for submersible motor includes an enamel layer 3 formed on the outer circumference of a copper wire 2, and an insulating coating layer 4 composed of an electric insulating composition, which is formed on the outer circumference of the enamel layer 3. The electric insulating composition of the insulating coating layer 4 is composed of cross-linked polyethylene which is cross-linked using an organic peroxide, and the organic peroxide is such that the molecular weight of the decomposition residue after cross-linking treatment is 100 or less, or the boiling point of the decomposition residue is 100°C or lower.
