PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine for an outboard motor in which an oil filter can be replaced without oil flowing out to the outside.
SOLUTION: In the engine for the outboard motor, a communication duct 67 communicating with a crank chamber 44 through a through hole 66 is disposed at a position lower than that of an oil filter 57 in an oil passage (main gallery 56). The communication duct 67 is closed by a drain valve 68 that can be opened and closed manually. Also, an air inlet duct 71 that allows air to enter from the exterior is provided to the main gallery 56 at a position higher than the oil filter 57. The air inlet duct 71 is closed by an air vent bolt 72 that can be opened and closed manually. Accordingly, even if the oil filter is removed, oil does not flow out to the outside. As a result, the workability of replacing the oil filter is improved.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
