<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for desulfurizing a gaseous effluent, which method improves the overall efficiency of a sulfur recovery line, achieves a sulfur yield of 99.5 wt.%, furthermore 99.8 wt.%, and practically improves the purity of a gas. <P>SOLUTION: The method for desulfurizing a gaseous effluent including hydrogen sulfide uses a Claus treatment unit followed by using a Claus tail gas treatment unit (TGT). The method includes a process which uses a device for on-line analysis of an H<SB>2</SB>S/SO<SB>2</SB>ratio at the outlet from the TGT unit and a feed-back loop capable of maintaining the H<SB>2</SB>S/SO<SB>2</SB>ratio at the outlet from the TGT unit to a value close to 2 and generally in the range 1.5 to 2.5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
