<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection image display device which maintains excellent performance for a long time by preventing dust from adhering to a specific optical component inside an optical engine case to prevent quality degradation of a projection image and luminance lowering of an image, and an optical engine case. <P>SOLUTION: The projection image display device includes the optical engine case in which the optical components including a plurality of lenses are arranged, and includes an opening in the optical engine case in an area, in the optical engine case, surrounded by a dichroic mirror by which first color is spectrally split from white light emitted from a light source, a dichroic mirror by which second color and third color are spectrally split after the first color is spectrally split, and the optical engine case, to efficiently exhaust air inside the optical engine case. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
