PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with any pumps and valves which are operated with the occurrence of an anomaly as a trigger. SOLUTION: A nuclear reactor includes a core 6 where fuel elements 3 are joined directly or through a thermal conduction member to the inner surface 2h of the outer wall 2a of a first flow channel 2 where a first coolant 1 is circulated, and the outer surface 2i of the outer wall 2a is cooled by a second coolant 5 in a system different from that of the first coolant 1.
