PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat back device capable of suitably supporting the head of an occupant with a headrest by well moving the upper body of the occupant to the rear portion of a vehicle body. SOLUTION: The seat back device 12 includes a back board 25 fixed on a rear face 13a of a seat back 13. In addition, the seat back device 12 includes an opening 32 provided in the back board 25, and a cover board 26 which has the substantially same shape as the opening 32 and which is larger than the opening 32 and detachably provided at the opening 32 from the rear face 25c side of the back board 25, and the opening 32 is closed by the cover board 26.
