PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add a large amount of metadata without adapting a metadata reproduction device while maintaining retrieval of video data that a user desires. SOLUTION: A video processing system includes a metadata recording means which includes a plurality of metadata recording areas, and records metadata in a recording medium in the respective metadata recording areas in a metadata recording format such that a plurality of metadata contents are recorded for metadata of the same item, a metadata reading means which reads out the metadata recorded in the recording medium, a metadata input means which inputs metadata for replacement, and a metadata replacing means of replaces the metadata read out by the metadata reading means with metadata recorded in a first metadata recording area and a second metadata recording area based upon replacement information input by the metadata input means.
