PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability for a task which is normally carried out using a microscope. SOLUTION: In an operation handle 17 for outputting an operation signal for operating the microscope through rotation, SW-1a to SW-1d for detecting contact with an observer are disposed on the circumference of the gripping portion of the handle, and SW-2a and SW-2b are disposed on the back of a disk portion of the upper surface of it. If an observer's hand gripping the handle is detected by the SW-1a to SW-1d, an operation signal is output for controlling rough movement for focusing. If an operator's hand gripping the handle is not detected, an operation signal is output for controlling fine movement for focusing. If contact with an observer is detected by SW-2a or SW-2b, an operation signal is output for controlling the extremely fine movement for focusing.
