<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a medical device in which a high-purity compound is used in high yield and with small disadvantageous impurities. <P>SOLUTION: In the presence of an alkali metal salt of a (meth)acrylic acid, an epoxy compound having an allyloxymethyl group at position 2 is reacted with a (meth)acrylic acid corresponding to the alkali metal salt of the (meth)acrylic acid, subsequently its reaction solution is washed using an organic solvent with 8.3 or more of solubility parameter and 3% or less of solubility of the solvent to water, to obtain a compound represented by general formula (a) and/or (a').
