<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device capable of improving the contrast ratio in the directly front direction. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device 100, constituted by stacking a light source device 14 which emits parallel beams, a back surface side polarizer 16, a liquid crystal cell 13, a display surface side polarizer 11, and a light diffusion layer 15, in this order, includes a selective light blocking layer 12, which blocks off the light that is generated by being depolarized and is scattered in the liquid crystal cell 13 and which advances, in a direction different from the parallel beam, between the display surface side polarizer 11 and the light diffusion layer 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
