<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass which still maintains a high visible light transmittance, even when the content of Sb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>as a clarifier is limited to not higher than a standard value. <P>SOLUTION: The glass includes not less than 21% SiO<SB>2</SB>and less than 0.1% Sb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>in mass%, and has an refractive index nd of less than 1.71, and a difference in transmittanceΔT between transmittance T<SB>800</SB>for 800 nm and transmittance T<SB>360</SB>for 360 nm of not more than 15%.
