PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of supporting and fixing a U-tube in a U-tube type heat exchanger with a triangular arrangement. SOLUTION: By changing the tangent line position of the tube 1, a clearance is provided at a U-tube bending center. A tube supporting and fixing device constituted of a tube fixing shaft 4 and tube support plates 5 is inserted to the clearance, so as to support and fix the U-tube bending center. After all of the tube supporting and fixing devices are inserted, both ends of the tube supporting and fixing devices are welded and fixed to support plates.
