<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle speed control device capable of improving fuel consumption or relaxing traffic congestion by allowing the vehicle to pass a traffic signal without stopping if possible. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle speed control device 23 for controlling a vehicle speed according to a timing in which the display of a traffic signal ahead of a vehicle is switched is provided with: a detection means 43 for detecting a time until the traffic signal is switched to passage permission display; a vehicle speed calculation means 23 for, when a vehicle passes on this side of a stop position by a prescribed distance which displays the position where the vehicle should stop when the traffic signal is stop display in the time detected by the detection means 43, calculating the maximum vehicle speed Vf to switch the stop display of the traffic signal to the passage permission display; and a vehicle speed indication means 51 for indicating the vehicle speed calculated by the vehicle speed calculation means 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
