PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the work of constructing a heat insulating material, to obtain a column fixing portion having a favorable appearance without needing the surplus hang-over of the heat insulating material, and to facilitate a measure against a thermal bridge in a fixing structure of fixing a column by fixing hardware. SOLUTION: In the fixing structure for fixing a column 30 composed of a square timber having a thickness equal to a wall thickness to a foundation 11, a small portion 31 having a thickness thinner than the wall thickness is formed at the lower end of the column, the small portion is fixed to the foundation by the fixing hardware 20 having a thickness equal to that of the small portion, and heat insulating materials 50, 51 are mounted to recesses 32, 33 formed of the wall and the small portion.
