PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vortex prevention device of a simple structure which can be easily attached to an existing pump device without deteriorating drain performances of a pump. SOLUTION: The vortex prevention device 35 is attached to a suction pipe of the pump 10. The vortex prevention device 35 includes a plate shape horizontal overhang member 35a disposed at a radial direction outside of a suction port 11a of the suction pipe 11 and extending roughly horizontally.
